Last year, I watched with pride as my alma mater took control of the SEC Championship game... then lost it in the fourth. It was crushing... and worse yet, the damned TV signal kept fading in and out that day.
The nice thing about digital TV over the air is that free but as many folks know by now, it's tempermental. That fateful day last December was just one of those days where our little digital antennae could not pull in the signal very effectively. It was a painful, if not terribly embarassing, day watching my team not only lose to the Gators... but we had to watch it in blocks... literally.
Anyways, fast forward one year.
The Crimson Tide are stronger, more disciplined, and more talented across all positions.
This year, I had the pleasure of watching McElroy, Ingram, Peek, Jones, Maze, Johnson, Richardson, Arenas, Barron, Tiffin, Cody, Reamer, McClain and the rest of the Bama squad not only come out swinging... but dominate the entire game.
It was a thing of beauty. Four quarters of great football. My favorite was the 3rd quarter drive that went into the 4th. Calm, deliberate, and extremely well executed.
Great game.
Oh... this time we watched the game on even larger TV... and one with a solid satellite connection at a friend's house. None of that "hey, James!! don't move or the signal bonks out!" from last year.
